[re]frame is a blog about postcolonial theories and literatures and academic practice. It is hosted by early-career researchers of the Association for Anglophone Postcolonial Studies (GAPS).
[re]frame was created to increase the visibility of ECR members of GAPS and to showcase ECR research in the extended field of postcolonial studies. This inherently requires the interrogation of the field itself but also its intricate intersections with other fields of study. This blog is also designed to serve as an interface between the ivory tower of academia and the larger interested public. The issues at the centre of postcolonial studies are vital for better navigating larger societal debates, especially regarding racism and colonialism, and for shaping resilient and solidary societies. At the same time, we want to encourage investigations of the academy and academic practices, such as the colonial legacies of universities or the precarious working conditions, through varying thematic foci and formats. In general, we hope to increase transparency when it comes to academic knowledge production by providing open access publications. We understand this blog to be a productive, fluid and fragmented space to engage in.
